P.E.I. Decision 2003

The People of Prince Edward Island Have Spoken ... P.E.I Premier Pat Binns won a third majority government for the Tories in the Sept. 29 election that came in the aftermath of Hurricane Juan.

Binns is the only Atlantic premier to hold an election this year not to see his party's majority status lost or largely diminished.

Gary Robichaud

The Conservatives maintained their dominance in the legislature by winning 23 of the 27 seats. They had held 26 seats before the election. The Liberals, led by Robert Ghiz, were able to win four seats. And the NDP and its leader Gary Robichaud were shut out again.
